How do you get people to change their minds? Do you tell them they are wrong and they should listen to you? How do you get your children to do what you want them to do? Do you yell and scream at them if they donâ??t do it?

These are interesting questions when we are trying to learn to deal with people effectively in our work from home internet business. Do you know what will happen if we charge in to a situation with guns blazing and try to make someone change their mind?

I can tell you now that you have no hope changing someones mind with this approach.

All that this will do will cause them to double their fists against you and you will get nowhere. If you go into a situation to confront someone then yes, you may feel good later after getting your feelings heard but how about the other person? You will have just belittled them, made them feel inferior and lost their respect.

Will this make it easier for them to agree with you?

What if you sat down together and learnt why you differ from each other and understood the way each of you were feeling? Wouldnâ??t that be a much more gentle, diplomatic conversation? Think of when we scold our children. When we nag our partners to do something.

Does this work to make them do it.

I know it doesnâ??t in my household.

Yelling at the kids until they clean their room is a losing battle. The only good thing to come out of it would be that you lose your voice and canâ??t yell anymore! You canâ??t force people to change their minds and agree with you. So stop trying. We can certainly attempt to lead them in the right direction. To do this we need to act with sincerity and be gentle and friendly.

In his book entitled â??How To Win Friends and Influence Peopleâ??, Dale Carnegie states Linclon, â?¦.a drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall.

This statement can be applied over a number of scenarios. If you want to win a person over to your way of thinking then you first need to show them you are a sincere friend, that is your â??drop of honeyâ??.

Capture his heart and you are on your way. Those who use bulldozing and bullying methods are fools. There is no need to pressure someone or force your opinions on others.

Make it your goal to enter situations with a kind and friendly approach you will find it a lot easier to alter peoples opinions.
